Haunting Scripture… There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. Question: If we have fear or doubts, are we then “faithless? ”
The Prophet Mormon Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love out fear of men’s reactions love casteth out all fear. Holycasteth Fear …And the Ghost remission of sins bringeth meekness, and lowliness of heart; and because of meekness and lowliness of heart cometh the visitation of the Holy Ghost, which Comforter filleth with hope and perfect love, which love endureth by diligence unto prayer (Moroni 8)
Editor’s note: The following slide refers to equestrian therapy at a program I used to run. We had patients with long abuse history who needed to find ways who heal. Initially, these patients would panic when the horses began to move. They would react by tensing up, digging their heals into the horse’s flanks, which caused the horses to move faster. We had to teach them to relax and move with the horses. By doing so, they learned to deal differently with fearful situations. As children of God, we need to learn to handle uncertain and fearful situations with faith and trust rather than overcontrol and panic…

Behold, it was expedient when you commenced; but you feared, and the time is past, and it is not expedient now;
Question: How does fear (and the Author of Fear) effect what we pray for and the answers we receive?
Elder Holland …once there has been genuine illumination, beware the temptation to retreat from a good thing. If it was right when you prayed about it and trusted it and lived for it, it is right now. Don't give up when the pressure mounts. You can find an apartment. You can win over your motherin-law. You can sell your harmonica and therein fund one more meal. It's been done before. Don't give in. Certainly don't give in to that being who is bent on the destruction of your happiness. He wants everyone to be miserable like unto himself. Face your doubts. Master your fears. "Cast not away therefore your confidence. " Stay the course and see the beauty of life unfold for you. BYU Devotional, March, 1999

Question How, then, do we continue to move forward “as we commenced” and not be paralyzed by fear?
