CROWDSTROM – ANALYSIS, DESIGN, AND IMPLEMENTATION OF PROCESSES FOR A PEER-TO-PEER SERVICE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING Martin Matzner, Florian Plenter, Jan H. Betzing, Friedrich Chasin, Moritz von Hoffen, Matthias Löchte, Sarah Pritzl, and Jörg Becker
INTRODUCTION
Germany’s ambitious Goals for Electric Mobility 1 Million Registered Electric Vehicles (EVs) until 2020 World’s leading supplier and market for electric mobility

SITUATION FACED
The Chicken-Egg-Problem of Electric Mobility Potential EV Owners demand access to a comprehensive network of charging stations Charging Stations Electric Vehicles Charging Infrastructure Operators require large numbers of EV Owners
Utilizing existing private Charging Stations • Development of a peer to peer sharing and collaborative consumption service for electric vehicle (ev) charing • PROBLEM: No standardized process for EV charging available
ACTION TAKEN
BPM Lifecycle Guiding the Modeling Process identification Process architecture Conformance and performance insights Process discovery Process monitoring & -controlling 23 as-is process models Process analysis Executable process models Process implementation Process redesign 16 to-be process models
RESULTS ACHIEVED

LESSONS LEARNED
Lessons learned • Analysis of and Designing Business Processes as a unifying factor for joint research efforts including team members from different backgrounds • Developing a P 2 P sharing platform for EV charging requires combining the technical aspects of EV charging with the allocative function of the Sharing Economy that connects supply and demand in a market. Sharing Economy E-Mobility
