Task 3 Film Production in Wales The film and television industries are some of the fastest growing in Wales and this is, in part due to the funds provided by the Welsh government. A condition of the funding meant at least 50% of the filming had to happen in Wales. In the early 2000 s the Welsh government talked of creating a ‘Valleywood’, attracting many film and TV productions to the region. Progress was slow at first but in recent years it has had much success. For example, Journey’s End is one of four productions currently using Pinewood Studios near Cardiff’s docks.
