INTRODUCTION • Look at the title of the chart and graph • Identify the keywords mentioned on them • Don’t be so specific.

GENERAL STATEMENT(S) ABOUT THE DATA • Mostly, it describes about whether it is increasing or decreasing • Verbs to describe increasing trends: increase, climb, grow, rise • Verbs to describe decreasing trends: fall, decrease, decline, dip

DETAILED STATEMENT(S) ABOUT THE DATA • Give detailed information about the chart/ graph that is interesting • To do this you can use q a verb and an adverb e. g Sales increase sharply. q an adjective and a noun e. g. a sharp increase
