Get out your papers from last week Look over the sample e-mails you should have written Proofread them again and see if there's anything you would like to fix Exchange your e-mails (either paper or computer/phone) with a partner and read the other person's emails. Exchange feedback and discuss with each other how you could make the professional one stronger.
With a Partner, brainstorm a formal phrase you would use for these different functions. Getting back in touch – Introducing yourself Delaying something – Asking for information Giving permission – Asking for permission Asking for feedback – Offering Fixing a time – Complaining Responding to complaints – Thanking Inviting Confirming – Declining invitations

Write an email applying for a job – Brainstorm Sheet Structure of a job application e-mail: → Greeting and introduction → Reason for writing - (I am writing because I am incredibly interested in ---- position. ) → Your background and experience (should be key points – NOT your cover letter or CV) → The job itself, and why you would like to do it → Refer to your CV (Attached is my resume and cover letter. . . ) → Final comments
