First Degree n n n A first Degree that is only as deep as the epidermis. Main cause is the sun (sunburn) You can identify it by a mild redness If you felt the burn it would feel dry. The time it takes to heal is 1 week or less The best treatment is time and a cool soothing cream or liquid like aloe.
Second degree (partial thickness) n n n n 2 nd degree burns are only as deep as superficial dermis. Number one cause for 2 nd degree burns is a stove top The best way to tell between a first and 2 nd degree burn is if you have blisters or not. The texture of a second degree burn is moist Healing time is 2 -3 weeks Complications that can occur is an infection. The best treatment is the same as 1 st degree but you can get a mild antibiotic for it.
Second degree (deep thickness) n n n These burns are usually as deep as the deep dermis. Red and white coloration start to appear with bloody blisters. The texture like the other kind of second degree burn is moist. The healing process may take multiple week to heal properly. Some complication can occur these include scaring and a possible excision. The best treatment for this burn is to go to the hospital and let them treat it the way they think is fit.
Third degree n n n n A 3 rd degree burn can envelope all your skin layers. This burn appears stiff and white or brown The burn sight is dry and leathery With this burn you can’t feel any pain (because it has destroyed the nerves) This burn requires and excision. Some complications include scaring and amputation If you think you have a 3 rd degree burn seek help immediately
Forth degree n n n A forth degree burn is a burn to your bone or muscle It looks like its made of charcoal Its dry and painless for the same reason as 3 rd degree To heal it requires an excision Complication include amputation and functional impairment If you have a forth degree burn go to hospital imminently
