Project Description • Location & Limits: Bunton Creek Interceptor between Southlake Lift Station to Bunton Lane. • Nature of Project: Sanitary Sewer Line • Length: The project is approximately 6, 685. 0 liner feet of 30” PVC Sewer Line • Bid Opening Date: August 31, 2018, 10 AM AT City of Kyle Public works Departments
Liquidated Damages • Liquidated Damages: $250 per Calendar Day
Easement and Utility Status • Utility Status: Overhead and underground utilities exist near the project. The locations of underground utilities shown in plans are approximate. Contractor is responsible to make 1 800 call(s) before you dig and coordinate with providers before commencing any work that might affect present utilities. • Easement Status: Both temporary and permanent construction easements have been acquired. • Contractor is responsible to contact property owners before starting work. City of Kyle will provide a contact list of property owners.
Traffic Control • Traffic control will be require during the boring of Bunton Lane and Goforth Road. Traffic control measures required shall conform to Tx. DOT Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices • Traffic Control Plan: Details of the Traffic Control Plan (TCP) shall be submitted to the Engineer for review and approval in advance of scheduled work. • Storage of Material and Equipment: To be determined by contractor
Key Features • Funding Source – Texas Department of Agriculture and City of Kyle • Slope of the pipeline – 0. 30% and 0. 35% • Contractor is required to provide invert elevations at every manhole after each installation • Provide As Built plans • Follow the Davis Bacon Wage rate
Permitting • TCEQ approval obtained • Authorization from Hays County to cross the waterline in their easement granted • Authorization from GBRA to cross waterline in their easement granted • Authorization from LCRA to work inside electrical easement granted • Authorization from enterprise to cross the high-pressure gas line is granted
Project Schedule • Work Hours/Days • All work shall be performed during normal business hours (7 Am to 6 PM) • Work on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and legal holidays is not permitted without written consent from the Owner. • Recommended Phasing 1. 0 Boring under Bunton Lane, Goforth and at crossing of Gas line 2. 0 Start Pipe placing at most upstream section of the pipe line (Schlortt property) 3. 0 Remaining section of the pipe line
Subcontractors • Contractor to provide subcontractor(s) list to City.
Channels and Procedures for Communication • Coordinate with City Inspector at Job site • Written Submittals to Engineer • Contractual issues directly to Engineer • Change Orders – Written submittal proposal to Engineer • RFI – Written Submittal to Engineer
Grades, Lines and Levels • Temporary Bench Marks (TBM) supplied to contractor, elevation, northing and easting calibration should based on supplied TBMs Only • Contractor responsible for construction staking. City of Kyle requires records and as-built grades (top of manholes, invert in and invert outs at the pipe) • CAD file will be provided upon request
Shop Drawings and Other Submittals • Via PDF Email, or three (3) Copies of all Submittals • Submit to Engineer and City Inspector
Testing • City of Kyle to provide testing lab services as needed for soil compaction • (Contractor shall coordinate with the City Inspector for testing of the main lines and laterals by providing 24 hours notice prior to requiring an inspection) • Contractor to pay for Retesting of failed tests • Contractor to Pay or all other required tests including TV tests and Vacuum test for manholes ( TV tests should be conducted according to City of Austin specifications) • Copies of test reports to: • Contractor • Engineer (kgnawali@cityofkyle. com) • City Inspector
Meetings • Progress Meetings: to be held between City of Kyle Inspector, Keshav Gnawali and the Contractor • Location: To Be Determined • Day/Time: To Be Determined • Schedule updates by Contractor
Final Acceptance, As-Built and Record Drawings • Redlined as-built drawings shall be maintained and available for review at each progress meeting for review and discussion • Submitted to Engineer upon project completion prior to final payment • All paperwork shall be received by the City Engineer prior to acceptance
Subsidiary Items Other than items mentioned in this contract, the following are additional subsidiary items of this contract • Core manhole for existing or proposed pipe connection • Lining of proposed manhole • Irrigating seeded area; City of Kyle will provide necessary water • Construction staking and as-built survey • Cement stabilized backfill at waterline crossings • Material and installation of vents on manholes as specified in plan
Other Items • Contractor shall submit invert elevation at each manhole installation within 24 hr of such installation to City Inspector • Boring/casing is required at crossing of gas line • 6” extruded butyl adhesive tape required on all manholes
