WHAT IS BULLYING? § Bullying is when a person is “exposed, repeatedly and over time to negative actions on the part of one or more other persons. ” § It is hurting or being mean to someone repeatedly and on purpose. § Bullying comes in many forms.

TYPES OF BULLYING
Physical Bullying The types of bullying includes hitting or kicking the victim, pulling hair ‘or’ taking or damaging the victim’s property.
Emotional Bullying Emotional bullying are things such as spreading rumors. Excluding in games and talking behind others back.
Cyber Bullying is when someone (or a group of people) use technology to verbally, socially or psychologically bully.

Effects of Bullying v. Depression, anxiety, feeling of loneliness and isolation v. Low self-esteem v. Lack quality friendships at school v. Higher risk of suicide v. Increased risk of substance abuse
How to avoid bullies v. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself ! Act confidant and tell the bully to stop. v If you are with a group of other kids, stick up for one another. Take some of the bullies power away. v Avoid getting too emotional. Don’t let the bully know how angry and scared you are. v Your teacher or a school principal about the bullying an safe adult. v. Ignore the bully, Most Bullies want a reaction so don’t give them the satisfaction. Pretend like you don’t hear them and keep walking.
How to stop bullying v. Bullying should never be ignored, as it leads to long -term social and behavioral problems for both the bully and the bullied. v. Encouraging kids to be confident and accepting of others will help prevent a bullying situation.
How does one become a bully? v. They themselves have been bullied v. They are more like to have serious physical or mental health problems v. Exposure to violent behavior at home v. Bad role model
