What is Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over a period of time. Both kids who are bullied and who bully others may have serious, lasting problems.
What is Bullying In order to be considered bullying, it must be aggressive and include: An imbalance of power: Kids who bully use their power by using physical strength Access to embarrassing information Popularity Repetition
What is Bullying includes actions such as making: Threats Spreading Rumors Attacking Someone Physically Verbally Excluding someone from a group on purpose
Types of Bullying Verbal Bullying Saying or writing mean things. Verbal Bullying includes: Teasing Name calling Inappropriate sexual comments Taunting Threatening to cause harm
Types of Bullying Physical Bullying Hurting a person’s body or destroying possessions Physical Bullying Includes: Hitting, Kicking, Pinching Spitting Tripping/Pushing Taking or breaking someone’s belongings Making rude hand gestures
Types of Bullying Cyber Bullying Using the internet to send nasty messages, spread rumors, sending inappropriate emails or photos, or sharing private information Cyber Bullying occurs everyday on: Facebook Instagram Snapchat Texting

Homework 1. Write to someone who bullied you in the past, and tell them how it made you feel. 2. If you saw someone being bullied and you did not say anything, if so write a letter to that person. 3. Were you the bully? Write an apology letter to that person you bullied.
