BCLL LEAGUE INFORMATION Important Dates
Post-Season Tournaments • BCLL will host the following tournaments in 2021 – June 4 -6 , Girls 10 U & 12 U Softball* – June 4 -6 , Boys 10 U & 12 U Baseball – June 26 -27 or 18 -19 Girls 8 U Softball – June 26 -27 or 18 -19 Boys 8 U Baseball
Equipment and uniforms • Equipment – Pick up date 4. 10. 21 an equipment bag will Each bag will include practice & game balls, catcher’s gear for kid pitch & up, helmets and LL approved USA bat – You must sign-out your bag with Mike Weideman or League rep (weideman 32@yahoo. com, 989 -859 -3484). – Equipment and bags are inventoried before sign-out and after turn-in. – It is VERY IMPORTANT that you turn it in at the end of the season after your last game!!! • Uniforms Baseball: receives team jersey & hat Softball: receives team jersey & socks Tee ball: receives team jersey & hat
LITTLE LEAGUE® USA BASEBALL BAT STANDARD in 2021 SEASON • Only USA-Stamped Bats will be allowed for ALL Tball and Baseball play • Umpires will be instructed to enforce this rule • BCLL is providing a USA-Stamped Bat for each Tball and Baseball Team
Umpires • • Rob Bullock will manage Umpire Training & Scheduling. A master list of all umpires will be provided to all coaches Robert Bullock will pre-schedule Umpires for all games Coaches can confirm with assigned ump as desired – In the case of a “no-show”, the COACH is responsible to arrange a replacement • Umpires will be required to turn in a weekly timesheet, signed by the coaches, to receive their check – MORE TO FOLLOW
Raffle Tickets • As part of the registration process, each family paid $50 for 10 raffle tickets • Families encouraged to PICKUP THEIR TICKET BUNDLE @ Evaluations and DRAFT DAY. • Coaches will help distribute what is not picked up to players • Families can choose to keep the tickets and enter the drawing, or sell the tickets to recover the $50 • Tickets to be turn in by each player/parent at White Labeled drop boxes at BC South & BC West. • The drawing will be on the day after Opening Day. Each Winner will be notified

COVID Protocols for 2021 • • • We will follow the guidance of the State of Michigan; this is the recommendation of Little League State of Michigan guidance is updated on occasion and found on their website at Michigan. gov/coronavirus Guidance below is as of Feb 8, 2021 – note that baseball is considered a noncontact, outdoor sport for our purposes
COVID Protocols for 2021 • Given State guidance, here additional clarifications and direction: 1. Practice Safe Individual Behaviors: a. Wash hands frequently and cover coughs and sneezes b. Do not share equipment that are difficult to clean (catcher’s gear, helmets, gloves); Bats should be cleaned a sanitizing wipe in between uses if shared. c. Use separate towels, clothing or other items used to wipe faces or hands. d. Players are encouraged to provide their own food, drinks, and/or water 2. Protective Measures: a. Players are not required to wear a mask while in the field, at bat or on base, as long as they maintain ~6 feet of separation; they may wear one in these situations if they desire b. Players are required to wear masks while in the dugout c. Umpires, coaches, volunteers on the field are required to wear a mask d. Spectators are required to wear a mask if < 6 feet from spectators outside of their immediately household e. Baseballs should be swapped & wiped each half inning f. Disinfectant wipes should be available in each dugout, bathroom and concessions areas

Concussion Program • Communicate Concussion Risks – Immediate danger signs (emergency) and long-term accumulative effects • Avoiding Concussions – Proper sliding, contact rules, low tags, looking in during a steal play, pitchers/catchers and batted balls, priorities for pop-ups, optional facemask • Remove from Play Criteria – Training will cover the details – Coaches should consult with parents during evaluation – Coaches are authorized to declare a “suspected concussion” • Only “appropriate health professionals” can diagnose a concussion – Suspected concussions must be reported to the League by e-mail, so we comply with “return to play” requirements • Return to Play Requirements – Only “appropriate health professionals” can authorize return to play after the coach has declared a “suspected concussion”
Lightning Protocol: If You See It, Flee It; If You Hear It, Clear it • Track approaching storms with radar apps. Lightning monitors available at ball fields • Evacuate fields when storms are <10 miles away: Have players and spectators go to enclosed building or to cars with windows rolled up • Clear fields immediately if thunder is heard or lightning seen nearby! • Wait 30 minutes before returning to play after last sign of lighting/thunder activity in your area • Rain-outs will be announced by 5 pm via website & email
Injury Response and Reporting • Do not hesitate to call 911 if serious injury has occurred • Activities / Reporting sheet available at Concessions or from Mike Weideman or any Board member. ALL INJURIES MUST BE REPORTED (if you're not sure, play it safe and fill out an injury reporting sheet) • Player information (Name, address, phone number) • Type of injury. First aid required? Professional medical treatment required? • Type of incident and location.
Background Checks & Concussion Training Little League International’s Child Protection Program is clear: All local Little Leagues are required to conduct background checks on managers, coaches, board of directors' members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. *BCLL will conduct background checks on ALL Head & Asst Coaches* • CDC Online Concussion Training Course - Coaches • Volunteer Application (You should have received an email link)

COMMUNICATE Communicate with parents by March (sample letter available) Team responsibilities TEAM FIELD PREP ESCALATE • Drag/rake infield and base paths, line, chalk field (home team) • Both Teams rake once game has concluded (Visitor) • Pick up ALL trash after game from dugouts (Both) Regular field maintenance - Mow as scheduled or needed Escalate issues to appropriate Board Members if you are having trouble • We’re here for the kids ~ to make them better and to always have fun

TEAMS ASSIGNED for T-ball, Coach Pitch & Kid Pitch {BB & SB} • Eligible players randomly assigned to teams with ages of players balanced for each team • Parent-Coaches assigned to the team with their child • Reasonable requests will be honored as much as possible * (i. e. , siblings, ride sharing, etc. ) • Minor Divisions & Up- The board will draft teams, other than player to head coach of team- no other requests will be granted for the sake of keeping teams as fair as possible
