Introduction • Today I would like to introduce you to a company that is international known for there highly reputably power equipment.
STIHL’S History • 1926 - The “FATHER OF THE CHAIN SAW” Andreas Stihl created his first chainsaw in his small workshop in Stuttgart, Germany. • 1929 - LIGHTER, BETTER, HANDIER The first two-man gasoline chainsaw, eases forestry work considerably. • 1937 - STIHL came over to the United States and Canada. • 1944 -1945 - STIHL goes though a hard time with WWII and his factory being destroyed. People stopped buying new product so STIHL was hit on hard times. • 1959 - A SAW TRAVELS AROUND THE WORLD The “Contra, ” a gearless gasoline-powered chainsaw, revolutionizes forestry work. It is lighter and more efficient than all other products on the market. • After the Contra lunched Mr. Stihl started to work less and less till finally he passed his company to his four children and they continued to grow and expand the company. • 2014 - ANOTHER WORLD FIRST FROM STIHL The STIHL TSA 230 is the world’s first batterypowered cut-off mach. • STIHL is continuing to grow and expand all around the world.
STIHL’S USA HISTORY • STIHL’S main head corroders is located in Virginia Breach, VA. • STIHL Inc. employs over 2, 100 people nationwide, with more than 1, 900 in Virginia Beach, Va. , with a variety of positions from manufacturing, product assembly, manufacturing engineering, sales and marketing, and finance. • STIHL Inc. manufactures over 260 model variations of handheld outdoor power equipment for sale in the U. Decision Making Process • The steps that STIHL takes in order to make decision’s for the company: 1. The look over all the variables and see what they can fix or changes to be made for profitability. 2. They look at all the step they will have to take to implement the changes. 3. Then they determine what departments will be most cost affective then group them in categories. 4. Then they train personal to implement the changes.
Motivating Employee's • STIHL encourage their employee’s with : v Having good benefits. v Providing further education both with collage degrees and classes to help them advance in the company. v allowing employee’s to have flex time. v Being able to advance in the company.
