NCCER is a nationally recognized construction certification. NCCER certification means that the holder is highly trained, knowledgeable, and qualified to do the job anywhere in the country. It is a combination of written and hands-on test that prove you are ready to work in a construction related field!
What would I do in the Building Construction class? ● ● Students learn and practice workplace safety standards. Explore the following construction trades: HVAC, painting, plumbing, roofing, electrical, carpentry-finishing, carpentry-framing, and insulating. Storage buildings- New students normally start with building storage buildings. This is a great way to learn about basic framing, siding, and roofing. School projects- Every year we work on different projects that support our school. Past projects include: restriping crosswalks, building a chicken coop, dugout benches, and a portable concession stand. Tiny House project - Once students have mastered safety and tool standards they will be able to participate the Tiny House Project. We build Tiny Houses that are inspected, certified, and sold. This is a fun and exciting way to learn with a hands on approach. Skills learned while building the tiny houses include: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, roofing, flooring, and painting. What is Skills USA? ● ● ● Skills USA is the career tech student organization that aligns with building construction. Skills. USA activities develop positive attitudes, build self-esteem and empower students to excel. We give students a head start in developing valuable professional skills such as communications, interpersonal abilities, time management, teamwork and more. Because Skills.
