Second Affirmative Constructive • The basic responsibilities are to refute the negative off-case and on-case attacks, and to reestablish your partner’s claims and to extend affirmative case arguments. – Address the negative’s off-case attacks – Refute the first negative constructive’s attacks on each point. – Reestablish your partner’s first affirmative claims and evidence on each point. – Extend your partners initial claims with additional evidence and arguments.
First Affirmative Rebuttal • Refute the negative’s off-case arguments. • Refute the negative’s on-case attacks and case claims. • Extend arguments from the second affirmative case.
Second Affirmative Rebuttal • Reestablish and clinch the affirmative case argument. • Give an overview that presents the reasons the affirmative team should win the debate and preview your team’s main points. • Refute the off-case attacks presented by the second negative/opposition team member. • Refute the second negative/opposition team member. • Extend arguments in the affirmative case. • Conclude by persuading the judge and/or House to vote for your team.
