The Four Noble Truths To be a true Buddhist you must realize and accept the Four Noble Truths of our world. • ONE - Suffering exists • TWO - Suffering arises from attachment to desires • THREE - Suffering ceases when attachment to desire ceases • FOUR - Freedom from suffering is possible by practicing the Eightfold Path

The Ten Perfections to Be Achieved 1. Generosity (quality of being generous) 2. Morality (living, learning, and teaching good morals) 3. Renunciation (practicing strict self denial) 4. Wisdom (being philosophically or scientifically intelligent) 5. Energy (having a positive energy )
The Ten Perfections to Be Achieved ( cont. ) • Patience (the capacity, habit, or fact of being patient) • Truthfulness (telling the truth) • Resolution (ability to problem solve) • Loving-Kindness (tender and benevolent affection ) • Equanimity, (balance and ability to deal with stress)
The History of Buddhism Two thousand five hundred and fifty years ago, Buddha passed on his teachings. Once he himself had became enlightened. He began to teach others his methods. His teachings are called the Dharma. The Kanjur and the Tenjur together making up 362 very large books containing Buddha's teachings. He taught others the path to enlightenment forty-five years.
