BUCS points are an accumulation of points awarded
❏ BUCS points are an accumulation of points awarded per team for league positions, cup competitions and individual entry. ❏ LSE record in previous years ❏ 2017/18 - 59 th place (546 points) ❏ 2016/17 - 53 rd place (465 points) ❏ 2015/16 - 62 nd place (452. 5 points)
❏ BUCS points differ according to what league and position you are in but they all count! ❏ By giving away 1 walkover you suffer losing half the points you accumulate in the year, 2+ walkovers you lose all points!
❏ BUCS fixtures take place every Wednesday. ❏ LUSL fixtures take place during the week and on the weekend. ❏ Fixture confirmations will be sent out on Thursday/Friday afternoon before the next Wednesday's fixture. ❏ Pick up your fixture packs on Monday before your matches: ❏ Generic BUCS Team Sheet ❏ Playing Under Protest Form ❏ Scoresheet (for relevant sports) ❏ Official payment receipt
❏ Where are you playing - is it inputted in BUCScore (Home Fixture) ❏ Do you have travel arranged to arrive with plenty of time to your fixture ❏ Do you have an adequately qualified official(s) (check BUCS regulations) ❏ Team kit/equipment ❏ Picked up fixture packs ❏ All team members must bring LSE Student ID with them to all games to verify identity with opposite team captains ❏ Relevant registration numbers (applies to some sports)
❏ Own transport must be arranged by each club ❏ Try to be as cost effective as possible - get multiple quotes from coach companies/use trains with rail cards ❏ Please give yourself enough time to get to your venue as possible - when booking trains/coaches get there an hour early to compensate for traffic/train disruption ❏ Delays - ring the sport dev officer so the opposition can be made aware
This is a last resort if you cannot get a team out at all with good reasoning Over 150 fixtures were changed last year requested from LSE out of 710 played ❏ Email su. bucs@lse. ac. uk with a fixture request form - must be more than 48 hours before the fixture is due to start ❏ Give as many options for extra dates as possible - more flexible the more chance of changing the fixture ❏ Must give valid reasons for fixture change ❏ DO NOT contact other captains or institutions yourselves - fixtures need to be confirmed by institute sport administrators.
❏ It is the captain's responsibility to ensure that club members are aware of their obligations as members of your team ❏ Poor time management or organisation is not an excuse for not be unable to play a fixture ❏ We do not allow teams to give walkovers ❏ Last year we gave away a total of 26 walkovers in the league - this cost the university 109 BUCS points and cost £ 500 in fines. In the cup we gave 5 walkovers and this cost us 16 BUCS points and £ 1950!!!
