Leadership styles - roles �An authoritarian leadership style is one where a particular individual is controlling and likes to make most of the decisions, this works in teams where the rest of the team is happy to be told what to do. �A consultative style is where a leader consults with other team members asking them for advice before coming to a decision for the team – teams members feel more involved �A democratic style is opposite to an authoritarian one – there are lots of leaders, everyone is listened to and plays a part in team decision making.
Leadership �Management involves making sure that various tasks are carried out well and that resources are used efficiently. �Leadership goes further than this beacuse it involeves getting things done in new and different ways, and persuading others to follow your direction.

Leadership styles �A leadership style is the way in which a person tries to lead others over a period of time �Their style is their chosen approach and will determine the way others see them and react to them �There are 4 main leadership styles: 1. Autocratic 2. Democratic 3. Participative 4. Laissez-faire � In 4 groups create a Power. Point explaining on of the above

Adapting leadership style according to situation �It is likely that the appropriateness of using an autocratic or democratic style depends on whether the situation facing the management is favourable or unfavourable. �Favourable situation is when; ◦ The leader is popular and trusted by members of the team ◦ The task is well defined ◦ The power of the leader is high �Different styles are suitable to the circumstances
