BTEC LEVEL 3 HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE Unit 27 – Dealing with challenging behaviours

P 2 – Deadline Friday 7 th of February 2014 @4 pm (reception) Criteria P 2 Evidence Explain how legislation/guidance applies to challenging behaviour.

What do you need to do ? �You will need to create a Power. Point presentation on how legislation and guidance used in a health and social care such as a pupil referral unit. �You will need to answer the following questions using the legislation and guidance which you have found.

What do you need to do first ? �To conduct some independent research into nationwide or regional policies with regards to dealing with challenging behaviour which are relevant to your setting. �You will need to find 4 different policies which are relevant to your setting, a general one has already been uploaded to the blog. �For each question which you are asked, you will need to use evidence from 3 of your policies to answer it. Try to mix and match them throughout your answers.

Structure – Slide 1 �You will need to initially identify the variety of behaviours which can be demonstrated within the setting of your choice, nursery; day centres; elderly care home; or hospitals.

Structure – Slide 2 �You will need to list the key legislation which you have researched and chosen by adding the links to each on that slide providing a basic summary of each and their focus.

Structure – Slide 3 onwards �For this part of the task, you can have a title slide with the question and then answer it using the information gathered from your research (link to 3 policies or guidance procedures). �You will need to each of the question to answer in the context of yourself working within your chosen setting.
