BTEC Enterprise
BTEC Enterprise A bit about the course………… This is a vocational qualification worth the equivalent of ONE GCSE. Students are required to complete THREE units of work. Two are assessed by pieces of internal ASSESSMENTS and the third is an external EXAM.
BTEC in Enterprise What will I learn about? ? ? Unit 1 – Exploring enterprises. The aim of this unit is to examine different enterprises to gain an understanding of the characteristics of enterprises and the skills needed by entrepreneurs. Students must complete a piece of controlled assessment on this unit. You will need to compare TWO local SME’s as part of this assessment. It is worth 30% of the final grade.
BTEC in Enterprise What will I learn about? ? ? Unit 2 – Planning for and running an enterprise. In this unit students must select an enterprise idea to plan, pitch for and run in school. Students must complete a piece of controlled assessment on this unit. It is worth 30% of the final grade.
BTEC in Enterprise What will I learn about? ? ? Unit 3 – Promotion and finance for Enterprise. In this unit students must explore promotional methods, financial documents, planning and forecasting. Students must complete an external examination on this unit. It is worth 40% of the final grade.
BTEC in Enterprise You should choose this if……. You are someone who wants to try something new – a subject that you haven’t studied before. You realise the importance of studying a business-related subject. You are someone who is not put off by the idea of exams. You would rather complete internal assessments instead of exams. You are prepared to work hard and meet deadlines. Be mindful, there is a lot of written work and essay writing as part of this qualification.
