Brooke Glass 102511 Hour 2 Career Technology Pediatricians
Brooke Glass 10/25/11 Hour: 2 Career Technology
Pediatricians help make children feel better everyday. I have wanted to work as a pediatrician for a long time now. I get more interested when I research the project. For this project I need to research earnings, responsibilities, and working conditions.
Pediatricians are dedicated to the health and well-being of infants, children, and young adults. We need to go to school for 8 years. They help children keep up with their health. They talk to the children one on one and help them with their problems.
o I would say this job is physical and mental. I would say mental because there is a lot of schooling and thinking. o This is physical because they do a lot of running around. o o This job is indoor. o o You are mostly working in a patient room or office. Pediatricians work about 50 hours a week. That includes after hour calls, patient rooms, and in an office.
I will need 4 years of medical school, at least 3 years of residency (on the job training), and in addition, a bachelors degree. Classes I will take now are classes that have to do with medical conditions. I plan on going to Michigan State University because it is a good medical school. I will need to keep my grades up to get into a good college.
The outlook for a pediatrician is good and is continuing to rise. I am undecided on where I want to stay and work, but most likely I will stay in Michigan. I am not sure what place I would like to try and work at, but I want good employees. I want to work at a place with a great environment and some place that everyone wants to go.
When I get enough money I want to buy a big house. Pediatricians earn $155, 000 a year. This does fit my goals. First, I will probably want to buy a nice car with this money.
I would like to be a day care worker for an alternate job. Day care workers only make $34, 233. They mostly work indoors with kids, they have to keep the children occupied and happy. I chose this because I love kids and making them happy.
I am most looking forward to helping children. I want to make them feel better. I am mostly looking forward to always being around children and good people. I am not looking forward to giving shots and all the schooling. I learned a lot of new information. I knew that you made a lot of money but I wasn’t sure how much.
