THE KINESIOLOGY GAMES KIN Games is the largest student run undergraduate conference in Canada Teams of 18 members from kinesiology programs across the country (24 in the past) Compete in 4 different categories: Academics; Athletics; Dance; Spirit Daily conferences with speakers and vendor fairs An amazing weekend of making 800 new best friends Date: March 14 th – March 17 th More information available at: https: //www. kingames 2018. com
OUR TEAM • Team of 18 members • Open to all students in the Department of Kinesiology • Weekly dance practices starting in November • Gives us the chance to network with students & professionals who all share a passion in the same area of study • While at the event, we always represent Brock University in an appropriate manor and with pride • Huge impact in the Brock community as we have one of the largest programs • Have raised money for Jump Start ($800); participated in Movember Awareness • Will be raising money for Motion Ball this coming February • We will be hosting Kinesiology Games in 2020 at Brock University
EXPENSES • Conference Registration and Hotel $600/person • Travel (bus) ~80$/person • Team Clothing • Team sweaters $30/person • Team jerseys $25/person • Dance outfits $20/person • Backpack $50/person • Bracelets (trade) $15/person • Breakfast and lunches provided - responsible for dinner/snacks TOTA L OF EXPENS ES : $820/PE RS ON ~$14, 760 A S A TEAM
FUNDRAISING INITIATIVES • Loser Pool $1000 • Friends/family of the team guess which NHL teams will lose every week • Clothing Fundraiser x 2 $550 • Selling Brock Kinesiology Clothing • Coat Check @ Kin Gala $50 • Bottle Drive $150 TOTAL OF EXPECTED REVENUE: $1, 750
FUNDING REQUEST • We are asking for $13, 000 to cover: • Travel (bus from Brock, to Toronto and back) • Conference/Hotel (reimburse fees already paid) • Food & amenities provided by Kin Games (reimburse fees already paid) • Clothing (to represent our school and display unity) • Additional fundraising money will be used towards “Brock Swag” and team spending money while at the conference • Any excess money will be put into our team bank account and saved for the 2020 team
SUMMARY • We have a large impact in the Brock community and always represent Brock in the best way possible • Dedicated team of broke students • Asking for $13, 000 in funding to cover trip expenses • Representation of Brock Spirit this year is very important due to Brock University hosting Kinesiology Games 2020. • We have always been held in high regard and want to maintain this image for our school and build excitement for 2020!
