TELEVISION’S RATINGS SYSTEM Monitored and calculated by Nielsen Media RATINGS- Percentage of people watching a show who own or have a television. For example, Two and a Half Men has a rating of 12. 2. That means that 12. 2% of the total population was watching that show. SHARES- Percentage of people watching a show who have a television on at that time. A smaller sample of people. For example, Two and a Half Men has a share % of 15, which means 15% of all people w/ a tv on were watching it.
