What is captivity? What is captivity? Meaning: 1. The Man was no more in control of which he was, he was subject to an extraordinary force that pushes him to do things he does not want to do. 2. He could not reason any more 3. The Spirit in the man knows Jesus because He knows Jesus is the Son of God. And He has the Power to cast Him out from the man. • the spirits cry out and panicked at the sight of Jesus. The Spirit tremble, Demons will manifest as they are seeing the power that will cast them out. • The Spirits have names and they have intellect and they will speak for the person they possess. • The name legions: Insanity, poverty, shame, failure as many as they could be were in that man. A man carry up to an innumerable spirit. Some are just warehouses and reinforces the domination of Satan on some territory or country. They need a body to carry out actions. Summary Captivity is a place where a person will is stolen and his ability to choose and to do things is influenced by an evil spirit. Captivity could have different degrees: Possession: No more will ex: Man of Gerasene Oppression: The Spirit could be in or outside and oppressing part of the body or the action of the person.
Regions of captivity It is not enough to know that someone is bound by an invisible force. You have to be able to see in the Spirit where the person is retained into captivity and free the person form that place. Job 38: 16 -18 New King James Version (NKJV) “Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depths? Have the gates of death been revealed to you? Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this. There are spiritual realms that are revealed to us as we are doing Deliverance. They are allowing us to deliver effectively the person and not only paralyzing the forces coming against that person but bringing the person out of the place completely free. What do we learn first from all of this? A soul may belong to God (be saved and redeemed) but suffer demonic influences; because the fragments of his soul are held in captivity. This condition produces disease, failure, fear, anxiety. . . and the prayers that have no answers in some areas of life.
Regions of captivity 1. The place of darkness The darkness does not only represent the power of the devil, but also a spiritual place. Matthew 4: 15 -16 New King James Version (NKJV) : “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned. ”[a] Some countries are covered by these regions. They are filled with a person that carries criminals’ activities and are just wicked. Psalm 74: 20 New King James Version (NKJV) Have respect to the covenant; For the dark places of the earth are full of the haunts of cruelty These places are dens of violence, of crime, both physical and spiritual. The people living there are under bondage of a strong man of that area and the deliverance to that place means also confronting the strongman.
