Understanding the KS 5 Curriculum • Year 12 students will study three subjects as two year courses. All changes to be made by the end of this week. Maths & Science sitting ‘transition tests’ to assess suitability for courses • Most subjects are now linear and will be assessed in May/June 2018 assessment opportunities throughout the two years to monitor progress and attainment • Remaining modular subjects: Law, Politics, Mathematics, Further mathematics, Media Studies & Food Technology Students will sit an AS examination in May 2017 • New BTEC specifications in ICT, Health & Social Care & Business-students will sit 2 examinations one in year 12/13 • Only BTEC Applied Law and Public Services 100% coursework • Most students will study an additional qualification such as EPQ, The Progression Module or GCSE Mathematics

D badges have to be worn at all times – Attend supported study sessions – Outside working hours and social life should not impact upon college work
