Indianapolis VA Regional Office IFH: Accounting Requirements Accountings are required when a VA-appointed fiduciary receives benefit payments on behalf of a beneficiary and any of the conditions listed below apply. • The amount of VA funds under management for the beneficiary exceeds $10, 000. • The fiduciary deducts an authorized fee a VA-authorized fee, court-authorized fee or remuneration for fiduciary services from the beneficiary’s account. • The beneficiary receives VA benefits at a rate equal to or exceeding the amount paid for a 100 percent disability rating. • Through personal contact or other means, it is unclear whether proper administration of VA benefits is occurring. • Forfeiture or General Post Fund is a factor authorized under 38 C. F. R. 13. 110. a-b. Release of a retroactive benefit exceeding $10, 000. • The appointment of a temporary fiduciary. • A corporate surety bond is required. VETERANS BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION 4
