KEY POINTS • Businesses are reporting implications in cost, time and delays: • 60% of respondents have reported that their business is facing extra cost as a result of Brexit – courier/delivery and import costs are reported to be a large factor in the additional costs. 61% of respondents reporting that there additional time implications. Completing paperwork, chasing customs and deliveries are all having a time impact on businesses. One business reported: Additional time is now needed for “research into what info is now required, time acquiring info, passing info on to all suppliers and couriers. Also waiting time whilst couriers decide how to handle their workload and adjust their costs. Orders/deliveries that previously took 1 week overall are now taking 6 weeks plus. " • • 47% of respondents reporting that their business is facing delays in their supply chain. One business added: "These impacts are in the processing and transportation sectors on which we rely for the export of produce on farm: • Vet inspection for meat products • Reduced demand from EU Haulage holdup at borders due to paperwork and certification checks means fresh products are perishable • Reluctance of hauliers to transport to EU because of cv checks, delays, empty return journeys increasing transport costs"
