Context for this Poet – note this • His family owned a Pub and he grew up helping behind the bar, listening to stories, songs and banter. He was a talented Gaelic footballer which got him a scholarship to Trinity. He became famous for appearing on The Late Show, adverts and really promoting his work. He didn't want to explain life – he wanted to capture it.

Worksheets • The poem and notes are on the page. • Complete all questions to form more notes. • This will require a personal examination of the poem; for you to honestly interact with it. • You only need to quote when asked for words and lines. • The objective is that in doing so, you get to know the poem better than just taking down notes. • Important note: write both questions and answers.

Homework 1. Finish that sheet and do all the questions. 2. Bring in Macbeth tomorrow.
