CHALLENGES TOWARDS HEALTH AS A RIGHT GUARANTEED EQUALLY • Criminal Selectivity – Racial Bias – 70% of inmates are black; • Exponential Growth in the last decades: Currently the 3 rd Largest Prison Population in the World (in a continuous growth) ; • Mass incarceration and racism; • Overcrowding; • Limited Human and Material Resources; • Poor Nutrition, Sanitation and Hygiene conditions; • Poor Health Conditions: 10% of all TB Cases in the country are among prison population 3
