Silent Knight’s Digital Addressable Protocol 29

Strength of Addressable Systems • All Silent Knight intelligent addressable and analog intelligent addressable fire alarm systems use a patented digital protocol for communication with the devices on the addressable SLC • Advantages of our digital protocol: § Standard non-shielded, non-twisted wire may be used • Reduces wire costs • Dramatically reduces potential for ground fault problems 30

Strength of Addressable Systems (con’t) • Advantages of our digital protocol: § Longer wire runs are possible • Up to 40, 000 feet of cable per single SLC loop § Loop response times are considerably faster than our competition • Alarm response times do not exceed 3 seconds regardless of system size § Immunity to noise induced problems • Reduces service problems • For the A/E and end-user, these advantages equate to usage in a larger range of applications and facilities 31
