Words you need to know… Credit---Official certification that a student has completed a course. At BGHS, we have whole (1) credit courses and half (1/2) credit courses. Semester---One of the two divisions of an academic year. 1 st semester--the start of school to winter break (August – December). 2 nd semester--after winter break until the end of the year (January – May) Prerequisite—What is required before you can take a class Transcript---A student’s academic record. Grade Point Average Class Rank A temporary GPA is figured at the end of each year and a final one is done during the senior year. Rank in class is determined by the numerical grade point average. Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) Awarded to graduating seniors who will attend a Kentucky College, university or technical school.
