The Revolt ■ They started off by marching to Colchester, the capital of Roman Britain. ■ They took the city by storm, burning Colchester to the ground and killing everyone in sight. ■ Boudicca and her army Continued their revolt in London. ■ It is estimated That 70, 000 -80, 000 people were killed, some of them were Celts. ■ The Roman army were fighting wars elsewhere. They didn’t expect this in England, it took them by surprise.
The outcome ■ The Romans eventually used their strength and tactics To defeat Boudicca and her army. ■ Boudicca did not want to be captured and defeated. ■ Boudicca killed herself by drinking poison. ■ Most historians Agree that her revolt was Destined to fail because her army Wasn’t as advanced and organised as the Roman’s ■ There is statue of Boudicca and her daughters in London erected in 1902.
