Tips and Tricks • Filtering your item lists based on role
Tips and Tricks • Item List Complaints…. • “There are just too many items in the list and it takes too long to find the one I need…” • “Too many of the items in Net. Suite seem to be duplicates so I just pick one…” • “Orders in Net. Suite take forever to process because our sales people just put random items on there and then we have to sort it out…”
Tips and Tricks • Item List (Possible Solutions) • Mark items inactive, But… • This complicates reporting, service, and/or returns these • Add “do not use” to the name so user no not to use this item any more. But… • then “Do not use” shows up on Invoices, Service logs or anything the customer see’s that lists that item. • Rather then adding a new Item for each model or version you could just rename the existing one. But… • This changes the item name historically as well. You can no longer tell which model of version the customer bought.
Tips and Tricks • Filter the items list by Role, Department, Class… however you want. • Users only see items that are currently relevant to them. • Items they can no longer sell or support are hidden from their lists but still available else where.
Tips and Tricks • Filter the items list by Role • Decide on how item are to be filtered and classify the items a such. • Create a saved search that only selects those items. • Create a custom for that role. • In the item filter dropdown select the saved search. • Items they can no longer sell or support are hidden from their lists but still available else where.
Tips and Tricks • Saved Searches • • • Main Line Grouping and Summing Using Custom Labels Derived field values from Search Case Statements [Advanced] Using a Saved Search as a Sub tab
