Design Considerations § § § Common support (CS) for BOS MDT and RPC. No space for rails at the chamber ends like for BMS/L, BOL (both MDT and RPC chambers were designed for this). No deformations of RPC (and MDT). RPC frame ØRPC supported in a Al frame at the rail bearings. 3915 mm 1850 mm ØThe frame carries the MDT on kinematical mounts. Rail bearings

Design Considerations (cont. ) § Electrical insulation of RPC from CS frame (Lecce): 4 plastic support blocks 50 x 50 mm (top/ bottom) and 0. 2 mm thick PE foils in 1 mm wide gap between RPC and frame (sides).
Design Considerations (cont. ) § Precise relative positioning of the chambers: 1) Adjustment of CS rail bearings in x direction by 10 mm. 2) Adjustment of MDT chambers in x, y, z at kinematic mounts by 10 mm.
