borough market presentation borough market a video portrait
borough market presentation.
borough market: a video portrait we produced a short documentary on borough market, we talked about it’s history and how it’s becoming an increasingly popular place for people to go and grab some great food and alcohol.
genre and form it was a traditional expository documentary, using a mix of; close up shots, mid shots, establishing shots, interviews and narration. we took inspiration from Channel 4 news reports.
content and concepts we approached the video with the intentions of highlighting borough market as an exciting, increasingly-popular place to be we talked about the history of the market, it’s architecture and where it’s located and also how it’s really popular among young adults, flocking in the masses for the great food and drink.
audience our target audience was young adults ranging from 18 -30. borough market is becoming increasingly popular with young people as a place to buy food and drink. we thought that this would be a key point we could highlight in our film. it also appeals to fans of documentaries as we also focus on the history.
influences Sam really liked the work of David Attenborough and Jack liked the style of Louis Theroux so we tried to find a middleground between the two. we took a lot of influence from Channel 4 news reports because we really liked their style and, like us, their target demographic is young adults.
evaluation the key thing we’d improve would be to make it longer, however when we arrived to shoot at the market we couldn’t get permission to film inside because the only person who could give us permission was busy that day so we were very limited in the footage we were able to get. however we were still quite happy with the footage we managed to get and the editing process was pain-free and actually quite enjoyable.
