Book Fair Project

Project: • This is an exciting new project that will make you dive deep into a chapter book! • With this project you will be creating a trifold poster. • On the poster you will be including different parts about the text. Main idea, point of view, theme, book summary and much more! • This whole project will be presented in December. The date will be determined closer to the month. • Within these next few pages will have clear directions on how to be successful to complete this project.

Parents • What needs to happen from the parents: 1. Students will need a large tri-fold poster board. (Similar to the one you got for Science Fair. ) 2. Students will need a chapter book with 100 plus pages on their reading level. Within this packet there are book lists attached. If your child wants to read a book that is not on the list, please email me the title of the book and I will approve or deny the book. 3. Students will need to create an object to represent their book! (This could be a diorama, 3 D model, Character creation, etc. ) 4. Come and support students when it is time to present!

What to do: 1. Log into Google Classroom for Reading. 2. Open up the Book Fair Assignment. 3. Leave the slideshow blank white and look at the topics. 4. The slideshow handout is there to help you fill out 5. Start reading your book. 6. As you are reading your book, go into your slideshow and add the information about your book into each slide. 7. Make sure to look at the requirements for each slide. Some slides require a minimum of five sentences. 8. Make sure that you are use evidence from your book for your slides, and that you do not plagiarize. 9. Once you are finished with your slides go back and edit your slides. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Check for capitalization Check for punctuation Check for spelling, any red squiggly under words are to be looked at! Does what you wrote make sense! Have another student look over your presentation. 10. I will start to print finished slideshows after Thanksgiving break.
