Boodskap / Message Daniel Shayesteh Guideline for Conversational Evangelism 2
Guidelines for Conversational Evangelism means engaging people in discovery
Our fundamental belief Evangelism start with God, and God reveals Himself for evangelism.
God’s very first evangelism Gen. 3: 15
The Bible says: n The heaven declares the glory of God (Ps. 19: 1) n The glory of God will be revealed, and all mankind will see it (Isa. 40: 5) n So, God’s aim in creation is to put Himself on display
The Qur’an and Islam say: n Narrated Masruq: I said to 'Aisha, "O Mother! Did Prophet Muhammad see his Lord? " Aisha said, "What you have said makes my hair stand on end ! … : Whoever tells you that Muhammad saw his Lord, is a liar. " (Bukhari : : Volume 6 : : Book 60 : : Hadith 378) n It is not given to any human being that Allâh should speak to him unless (it be) by inspiration, or from behind a veil, or (that) He sends a Messenger to reveal what He wills by His Leave … (Q. 42: 51) n No vision can grasp Him [Allah], but His grasp is over all vision. He is the Most Courteous Well-Acquainted with all things (Q. 6: 103).
What we have, others are missing: Key of Evangelism n God of the Bible reveals Himself n He is personal, but Allah and gods in all other religions are impersonal. n In reality, an impersonal god does not exist, cannot create, evangelize, be heard, save, and accordingly cannot have any messenger or scripture.
Revelation is for creation n God is the Creator and the author of life n God created, touched and talk with revealing Himself. n He gave Adam and Eve life through His personal touch. n Creation did not happen without the revelation of God.
Revelation is to fulfill His plans n I will go before you and will level the mountains (Isa. 45: 2) n The God of the Bible is the God of image. n He has heavenly plan to implement on earth. n He is personal, relational and active God.
Revelation is to give purpose to life n God has created the humanity for a purpose n To give purpose to life, God’s constant presence and supervision are necessary n God gives purpose and meaning to life through His holiness, justice and love.
Revelation of God is unavoidable
Revelation is to make God’s word relevant to us n The Bible is the written word of God, and Jesus is the personal Word of God n n n How can the word of God be relevant to us if the personal Word of God does not relate to us personally? The written word of God is to prepare us to have a personal encounter with the personal Word of God. Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth (Jn. 1: 14).
Conclusion: The God of the Bible is the revealing God but Allah is not
What does the revelation of God mean for us? n We have God but Muslims do not n We know God & the Truth but Muslims do not n We are saved and have the joy of salvation n n but Muslims are missing both We are reconciled and submitted to God but Muslims are not We are established in the absolute justice but Muslims are not We have an heavenly ID but Muslims do not We are reconciled to the God of love and able to love but Muslims are not We are living in the absolute peace and are peace-makers but Muslims are not Key questions arise for all these
