S 3 Curriculum Maximising Potential Final year of pupils’ Broad General Education An opportunity for pupils to consolidate skills A time for students to experience personalisation, choice, breadth and depth across their learning A stepping stone between the S 1/2 curriculum and that of the Senior Phase and National Qualifications Pupils will study 9 subjects in S 3 including English, Maths & French along with PE, PSE and RE Respect Honesty Fairness Achievement
You will select one subject from each column Subject Choice Form English, Maths and French are already selected for you. . . The last column allows you a ‘free choice’ from a range of subjects across the school and you will select TWO of these. Four main choice columns: • Expressive Arts • Sciences • Technologies • Social Studies
Column Choices (indicative) Expressive Arts: Art and Design, Media, Music with Performing, Physical Education, Design & Manufacture, Practical Woodwork, Prince’s Trust Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics Technologies: Admin & I. T. , Graphic Communication, Music with Technology, Physics Social Studies: Business Management, Geography, History, Modern Studies Free Choice: a combination of the above plus some additional subjects
