WHERE IS BOB MARLEY FROM? • Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) was born on Feb 6 th, 1985. • Roberts father and mother could not pursue a relationship leaving Bob to not have a father figure. • The city of nine mile was his home until about age thirteen.
BOB MARLEY AND THE WAILERS. • Bob found the Wailers when he was just sixteen years old. • Together they created the hit single “Judge Not. ” • One band member then later left the group. • The group stayed together and continued to make many more albums and singles. • While Bobs wife Rita helped out with singing backup.

DID BOB MARLEY REALLY GET SHOT? • Bob Marley and the Wailers were set to preform a concert to promote peace. • While Bob was at home waiting for the concert he was shot in the arm and his wife Rita was struck on her head. • After this attack Bob and Rita went into hiding in England for eighteen months.
RITA AND BOB MARLEY. • Rita and Bob in 1966. • Rita is from Cuba, but grew up in Kingston Jamaica. • Rita would sing and dance back up for Bob and the Wailers.
RASTAFARI • Rastafari is the Religion that Bob Marley was apart of. • The definition is: “of or relating to a religious movement of Jamaican origin holding that blacks are the chosen people, that Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia was the Messiah, and that black people will eventually return to their Africa. ” (Definition online) • They Believed to keep the body clean and pure.
MELANOMA • Melanoma is a type of skin cancer • Bob Marley discovered he had melanoma after a wound on his toe would not heal. • Bob refused to get his toe amputated because of his religious preferences. • Bob Marley died from cancer on May 11 th, 1981
COULD YOU BE LOVED. • Written in 1979 by Bob and the Wailers • There have been many different interpretations of this song • The most agreed on is that Bob and the wailers are talking about the cruelty in the world.
COULD YOU BE LOVED Introduction. (0: 00) Verse 1 (0: 35) Chorus (1: 37) Guitar comes in and starts to play solo while starting the rhythm of the song. The guitar changes its sound. to listen carefully and you hear the women singing the chorus faintly and then Bob comes in singing lead The Cucia is that sound that makes it sound more reggae. The beat is still consistent and doesn’t vary in sound chorus then repeats for a second time guitar speeds up the beat and stays with the speed of the vocals
COULD YOU BE LOVED Bridge (1: 57) The Piano comes in to accompany the other instruments, while Bob sings on vocals. Chorus (2: 37) Outro (2: 53) Piano fades out while the beat remains the same Piano comes back in and adds three notes to the beat while the women and Bob are switching off singing. While piano only stays for a short period of the song. It is not like other songs where beats and rhythms change in drastic ways.
THREE LITTLE BIRDS • Three little birds was released in 1980 on Bob Marley and the Wailers Legend album. • Bob got his inspiration from birds that would sit on his window that he was fond of. • Others say it refers to his wives band that performed with him and Bob would refer them as his three little birds.

The drums are staying constant while the melody changes drums stay on a two beat pattern,

Piano fades out while the other instruments stay with the rhythm of Bob’s voice The transition into verse two is almost unnoticeable the sound and volume of the piano seems to be higher than the other instruments being played that all the instruments go into a higher note than the previous verse

But as for the sound and beat it still is constant and same pace Verse 4 (1: 43) • The pace and sound is constant where Bob’s voice changes pitch and goes up and down in note wise • a cow bell that strikes every so often
I SHOT THE SHERIFF • This song was released in 1973. • I shot the sheriff is about a man who shoots the sheriff but it wrongly mistaken for shooting the deputy and is falsely accused
