WHAT IS BLUE EYE TECHNOLOGY? �Aim at creating computational machine that have perceptual and sensory ability. �Use camera and microphone to identify user actions and emotions.
The term BLUE EYES ØBLUE in the term stands for Bluetooth, which enables reliable wireless communication. ØEYES, because the eye movement enables us to obtain a lot of interesting and important information.
Need of BLUE EYE TECHNOLOGY • To built a machine that can understand your emotions. • A pc that can listen , talk or scream. • Verify your identity , feels yours presence and interact with you.
TECHNOLOGIES USED § Emotion Mouse § Manual and Gaze input cascades(MAGIC) § Artificial Intelligent Speech Recognition. § Simple User Interest Tracker. (SUITOR)
EMOTION MOUSE ØSimplest way ØPeople spend approximately 1/3 of their total computer time touching input devices ØPhysiological data is obtained and determined. ØA user model will be that reflects personality the user.
EXPERIMENT v. Measurement of heart rate, temperature, galvanic skin response (GSR), general somatic activity. v. Heart rate was measured with chest strap sensor, temperature with thermocouple attached to a digital multimeter (DMM), GSR also with DMM, somatic movement with computer mouse movement. v. Six basic emotion are anger, fear, sadness, disgust, joy and surprise.
Analysis v. Firstly, a multidimensional procedure was used to determine dimensionality of data. v. Fit the physiological similarities and dissimilarities into for dimensional table. v. Secondly, that all four physiological variables are sufficient to distinguish the six states.
MAGIC POINTING ØReduce the cursor movement needed for target selection. ØTo dynamically redefine the home position of the pointing cursor to be at the close vicinity of the target. ØClick on the target with a regular manual input device. ØTwo Magic Pointing techniques I. Liberal II. Conservative Ø Reduce physical effort and fatigue, greater accuracy and naturalness and faster speed than traditional eye gaze system.
LIMITATION OF TRADITIONAL EYE GAZE POINTING ØUnnatural to overload a perceptual channel with a motor control task. ØThe subconscious jittery motion of eyes. ØEye, a primary perceptual device is not a control organ. ØTarget not selected if not looked at for a set threshold. ØTarget selected if started at without user intention.
LIBERAL APPROCH §To wrap the cursor to every new object user looks at. §User take control of the target by hand near the target or ignore it and search for next. §“Pro-active” since cursor wait on every potential target. §“Over-active” when user merely looking at the target.
CONSERVATIVE APPROCH v. Does not wrap the cursor target until the manual input device has been actuated. v. Cursor is warped to gaze area reported by the eye tracker. v. Steer the cursor towards the target to complete the target acquisition. v. Cursor position is offset to the intention of manual actuation rector and the boundary.
ADVANTAGES OF LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROCH ØReduction of manual stress and fatigue. ØPractical accuracy level. ØA more natural mental model for the user. ØFaster than pure manual pointing. ØImproved subjective speed and ease of use.
LIBERAL AND CONSERVATIVE APPROCH ØLiberal approach is distracting when the user is trying to read. ØThe motor action computation cannot start until cursor appear. ØIn conservative approach uncertainty of the exact location prolong the target acquisition time.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT SPEECH RECOGNITION ØInput words are scanned and matched against internally stored words. ØIdentification causes some action to be taken. ØUser speaks to the computer through microphone. ØFiltered and fed to ADC and then stored in RAM. ØBinary representation become standard, against which future are compared. Ø pattern matching is designed to look for the best fit because of variation in loudness, pitch, frequency difference, time gap etc.
APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENT SPEECH RECOGNIGNITION ØTo control weapons by voice commands. ØPilot give commands to computers by speaking into microphones. ØFor making airlines and hotel reservation. ØFor making reservation, canceling reservation or making enquiries. ØCan be connected to word processor and instead of writing, simply dictate to them.
SUITOR ØHelping by fetching more information at desktop. ØNotice where the user’s eyes focus on the screen. ØFills a scrolling on a computer screen with information related to user’s talk. ØEx. If reading headline, pops up the story in the Brower window.
