Emergency Procedures: Fire Response 2104
Preventing Fire • Store flammable liquids in a flammable cabinet • Store combustible materials properly • Use space heaters safely • Smoke in designated outdoor areas 2104
Emergency Procedures: Evacuation • • Know what the alarm signal sounds like, and quickly exit the building when you hear it. Know the location of emergency exits near you, as well as those near restrooms and other parts of the building. Have at least two evacuation routes from your work area—a primary route and an alternate route. Keep exits and access to exits, including hallways and stairways, clear. Some employees have emergency duties. So, make sure you know what you’re expected to do and how to do it. After evacuation, go directly to the designated meeting area, and do not leave it until you’re told to do so. Participate in evacuation drills. When you hear the alarm, treat it like a real emergency by proceeding quickly toward the nearest emergency exit. 2104
