Bloomington Public Schools Acceptable Use Policy
Acceptable Use What does that mean to you? � Access to the District’s Network/Internet must be for the purpose of education, communication, or research, and be consistent with the educational objectives of the District as set forth in written board policy.
Privileges The use of the District’s Network/Internet is a privilege, not a right, and inappropriate use may result in a cancellation of those privileges. The Director of Instructional Technology and/or the building principal will make all decisions regarding inappropriate use and consequences.
Examples of Unacceptable Use � Intentionally using the network for any illegal activity, including violation of copyright or other contracts, or transmitting material in violation of any U. S. or State regulation. � Downloading copyrighted material for commercial use. � Using the network for personal gain. � Invading the privacy of others. � Using another user’s account or password without that user’s permission.
Unacceptable Use (cont. ) Using the Network/Internet while access privileges are suspended or revoked. � Accessing, submitting, posting, publishing or displaying any defamatory, abusive, obscene, profane, pornographic, threatening, racially offensive, harassing or illegal materials and material of sexual nature that is inappropriate in a school environment. �
Additional Lab Rules � You must have permission in order to use your mobile device. � If you damage something or find that something in your workspace is damaged, report it to an instructor so that you will not be held responsible. � If in doubt – please ask.
BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING � Your account is monitored at all times � All of your activity is stored on a server and can be retrieved at any time. � Just because you delete it doesn’t mean that it is gone. � Don’t click on things that “pop-up” these can lead to other sites. � These rule apply for teachers, and administrators as well!
