Torah Portion Va. Yechi And he lived The Call to Holiness “Little foxes spoil the Vines” Lesson 10 Gen. 47: 28 -50: 26 01/11/2020
Charles Spurgeon: “If thou wouldest live with Christ, and walk with Christ, and see Christ, and have fellowship with Christ, take heed of the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes. ”
Song of Solomon 2: 15 (CJB) 15 “Catch the foxes for us, yes, the little foxes! They are ruining the vineyards when our vineyards are in bloom!”
The little sins we make light of them and neglect them until they have grown so strong that they prove mortal to us!
Something is definitely missing in your life and you know it because we have become dull, lacking in fervor, bearing little fruit, hardly growing at all in our walk with YHVH!
Romans 12: 11 (CJB) 11 Don’t be lazy when hard work is needed, but serve the Lord with spiritual fervor. fervent: literally means “boiling” or “seething”
Question: What is it that’s dragging you down? Could it be that little foxes are spoiling your vines?
Think of it like this: If the essence of holiness can be described as loving and serving YHVH with an undivided heart, then anything that divides your heart. . . even if it is “neutral” in and of itself. . . is sin! The same can be said for anything that dulls or distracts your heart!
It’s sin, even if it’s commendable in the eyes of man, even if it’s clean in the eyes of man, even if it’s correct in the eyes of man! If it takes you away from devotion to Yeshua or blunts your spiritual sharpness, it’s sin!
Does anyone or anything other than Yeshua completely dominate your thinking and your dreams or pull at you to the point of distraction? Does anyone or anything other than Yeshua ultimately direct your thoughts or order your steps?
What about you? Does anything have your heart?
A little fox can change your vine!
Your holiness has been compromised! Your heart has become divided! You are loving the things of this world, and your love for Yeshua has cooled off!
Even the “neutral” things can destroy!
Some little foxes don’t get your attention but they will get YHVH’s attention! Another “god” is vying for His swpot in your life! Another “master” is calling you by name!
From whom are you taking orders? Who or what really rules you? Who or what do you really worship?
1 Timothy 6: 17 -19 (CJB) 17 As for those who do have riches in this present world, charge them not to be proud and not to let their hopes rest on the uncertainties of riches but to rest their hopes on God, who richly provides us with all things for our enjoyment. 18 Charge them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, to be generous and ready to share. 19 In this way they will treasure up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may lay hold of the real life.
YHVH is a God of Vitality! He’s a God of Energy! He is a God of life! He’s not dreary. . . He’s a delight! He’s not morbid. . . He’s marvelous!
It makes no sense whatsoever to allow our hearts to become divided!
1 Corinthians 10: 31 (CJB) 31 Well, whatever you do, whether it’s eating or drinking or anything else, do it all so as to bring glory to God. Colossians 3: 17 (CJB) 17 That is, everything you do or say, do in the name of the Lord Yeshua, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Whatever you do. . . do it with a real sense of divine nearness! YHVH and you are in everything together!
YET. . . those little foxes can be so subtle! Are any of them spoiling your vineyard? Are any of them running loose and destroying your vines?
We need to be on guard against all fetishes and fixations! Be on the lookout for all addictions and distractions. . . BECAUSE
1, They will divide your heart, challenging Yeshua for the number one place in your life. 2. They will dull your heart, making you insensitive to your gradual backsliding. 3. They will dominate your heart, pushing you, prodding you, and ruling you.
They are deadly! They are destructive! They must be driven out!
Are they wreaking havoc in your vineyard? It’s time to take inventory!
RESPONSE: (THE PRIESTLY BLESSING) MAY YHVH GRANT ALL THE DESIRES OF OUR HEARTS. FULFILL ALL OUR PURPOSES AND ALL OUR PETITIONS MAY YHVH HEAR FROM HEAVEN, QUICKLY ANSWER ALL OUR REQUESTS, AND SAVE US IN THE DAY OF ADVERSITY. IN THE NAME OF YAHSHUA, THE MESSIAH, DEFEND US FROM OUR ENEMIES, FROM POVERTY AND FROM BONDAGE.
