Moriah – Gen. 22: 2 v The name consists of two Hebrew words – ra’ah – to see; and Yah – the Divine name. Hence, means “Seen of Yah”. v The drama lies in Abraham and Isaac being seen by Yahweh foreshadowing His own sacrificial mission with Christ in the very place where it would be done. v When the ram is finally offered, Abraham renames the place Yahweh-Jireh – the same two Hebrew words reversed – Lit. “He who will be seen” – V. 14. Isaac ‘dead’ for 3 days v Heb. 11: 17 -19 – Abraham ‘offered’ Isaac.
