Stay away from each other, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can. - not quite John Wesley

How would you define what it means for you to be the church?
Holy Week, Easter, and ongoing plans? Pastoral care plans? Congregational connection plans? Church administration plans? Re-integration plans?
Tithes and offerings plans? Do you need help from: The Great Plains Conference? The Free Methodist Church – USA? The CARES Act?

Common Views of Communion 1. The Memorialist/Zwinglian/Baptist view. Jesus is not present in the elements, but believers reap a spiritual benefit from partaking because they remember his death. 2. The Calvinist/Reformed/"spiritual presence" view. Christ's body and blood are spiritually consumed by the communicants as they physically partake of the bread and wine. 3. The Lutheran/"consubstantiation"/"in, with, and under"/"sacramental union" view. Christ is united to the elements. 4. The Catholic/"transubstantiation" view. When the elements are blessed, they become Christ's body and blood.

How would you define what it means for you to be the church?
How would you define what it means for you to be the church? Why would you say it is important to receive the sacraments?
If you are going to celebrate Communion: In advance, instruct the people to prepare their hearts and minds for Communion, and to prepare sufficient elements in the places where they participate in a virtual worship time. When assembled virtually, at the appropriate time, the Pastor and people will proceed with the service of Communion, with all taking together in unison. During the words and prayer of consecration, let the people take the elements they have prepared and lift them up to the Lord. Once consecrated in this spiritual and virtual way, as guided by the pastor, let worshipers receive each element in turn in concert with others in virtual assembly.
If you are not going to celebrate Communion: Encourage your congregation to pray what has historically been called the Prayer for Spiritual Communion: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in this Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.
