Work experience is a key component of 16 to 19 study programmes. All students are expected to undertake work experience as part of their study programme ‘nonqualification activity’. Department for Education 2015
Work Experience • • All Year 12 students to complete one week Level 3 students 27 th-31 st March 2017 Students must secure their own placement Placements should be purposeful, challenging and relevant to the young person’s study programme and career aspirations • Cannot be paid employment.
Work experience • Students need to start looking for their placements now • There will be a placement contract to be completed by student, parent and employer • Students will need to obtain a copy of the ‘Employers Liability Compulsory Insurance’ and a basic risk assessment will need to be completed by the employer
