BiWeekly DUNE ND Engineering Integration Meeting 6132019 Agenda
Bi-Weekly DUNE ND Engineering Integration Meeting 6/13/2019
Agenda • Alan: LBNC Review Debrief • Matthaeus: ND Hall Layout Task List and LAr Updates • Bob: MPD and 3 DST-S Updates • ML at FNAL 6/20 and 6/21 (full days) 2
ND Hall Conceptual Design Tasks • Propose to start focusing specific design tasks - Following priorities laid out by collaboration “reference design” and LBNC comments - Two goals: • More refined engineering layout • Firmer cost basis for US scope • See tasklist word file - Will discuss in person with responsible scientists/engineers 3
LAr Updates • FNAL engineering help for cryostat shell scoping (Ting) - Concrete/steel beam structure FEA - Downstream window FEA • Top plate integration: Converging solution for module accessibility (James and Min) - Column segmentation permits better detector serviceability - Allows simple cryogenics routing or more complex permitting controlled argon flow • Mezzanine, support platform, and personnel access (Matthaeus) - Conceptually similar to Proto. Dune • Prism moving mechanism (Bob) - More refined design required for costing • Cryogenics Routing (Min) - Propose to develop simple SBND type routing for now (lowest cost) - Current top plate layout could also permit more segmented detector argon flow separation 4
