WELCOME TO BIRDVILLE ISD! The District is to happy to welcome you to our BISD family. As part of your employment, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package. If you have questions during the presentation, each slide has an email link at the bottom. Click on it and email me your questions, I will answer as soon as possible. ELIGIBILITY v You have 30 days from your Actively at Work Date (hire date) to complete the enrollment process. v Medical is effective the first of the month following your hire date. However, TRS also allows you to elect medical insurance to be effective on your hire date. If you choose the hire date option, the full monthly premium will be due. If you exercise this option, you must contact the Benefits Office by email or phone at 817 -547 -5782. You must also contact the Benefits Office if you are currently enrolled in the TRS Active. Care 2 plan and want to continue with that plan. v ALL other plan elections will be effective the first day of the month following 30 days employment. v BISD deducts premiums on a current month basis, not in advance. This is your go-to resources for all of the benefits the district offers. Here you will find: v Benefits enrollment guide - The Employee Benefits Guide provides a one-stop reference guide for all District benefit plan summaries, costs, and phone numbers with helpful embedded videos to explain the different plans. v Individual Plan Information such as certificates of coverage, contact numbers, claim forms, etc. v THEbenefits. This is your go-to resources for all medical (and TRS Retirement) plans. Here you will find: v TRS-Active. Care Enrollment Guide - An overview of the TRS-Active. Care and Regional HMO health plans. The premiums listed in the TRS Guide do not reflect the employer contribution of $260 for the health insurance. Care website reviewing the medical plans. Medical is the most complicated portion of benefits, it is important to understand your choices. https: //www. trs. texas. gov/Pages/healthcare_trs_activecare. aspx v Review the New Hire Walkthrough (optional) at http: //www. mybenefitshub. com/birdvilleisd and clicking New Hire Walkthrough under quick links. ENROLLING: v Access the Benefits HUB to begin benefit elections at www. mybenefitshub. com/birdvilleisd then click THEbenefits. HUB under the picture or on your FBS Mobile Enrollment App. v Login (upper right corner of home page). Username and Password instructions are on the log in page. For enrollment or password assistance in English or Spanish, contact the HUB call center at 469 -385 -4685. v Make sure you enter your eligible spouse and dependent information. Even if you do not plan to enroll them in voluntary benefits, they are still eligible for district paid benefits at no cost to you, but must be in the system to be enrolled (this includes EAP and Telehealth benefits). v Continue until you reach the CONGRATULATIONS! Upon completion of your enrollment process, print a copy of the Consolidated Enrollment page. Keep this for reference and to verify your payroll deductions.
