Bioshock VS Bioshock Infinite
Bioshock Art Style Bioshock 1 has a very dark and gritty style to the game which offers the horror gameplay aspect and the feeling of not knowing what's around the next corner. Since the game is set under water and the city of Rapture is destroyed the lighting in the game is very dark and uniqe to the game. Bioshock Infinite has a very bright aspect to the game and looks very different to Bioshock 1. This is because Infinite is set in the sky which means the city of Columbia is mostly sunny all the time and is not destroyed because of its evil dictatorship the law’s keeping all the citizens in order. Personally I think this does not offer the horror effect the first game gave players and infact made the game feel more like just another firs person shooter game.
Bioshock series Summarised The Bioshock series contains three games called: Bioshock 1 Bioshock 2 Bioshock Infinite Bioshock 1 and 2 are very similar and is actually set around the same time and both set in Rapture however with the third game 2 k games decided to take the series in a different view and have the game set in the sky and set before the time of Bioshock 1 and 2. Although Biosock Infinite may look very different to Bioshock 1 and 2 the game is very similar to the first two Bioshocks. I say this because the game has a lot of the same core pillars for example the game starts almost the exact same by entering a light house then being transported, however the story may be more complex in Infinite the main story is still the same. For example there's a bad person in charge and you must stop him, people take drugs to gain powers and everyone is trying to kill you. Personally this makes Infinite seem like a clone of the first Bioshock and not as fun to play.
Core Pillars and Unique Selling Points The core pillars of any Bioshock game is the plot and setting, coupled with the distinctive fighting style using guns and melee weaponry. The style is always distinct compared to other games, as the story is always interesting and leaves the player guessing until the very end. The game also offers the horror aspect always keeping the player on edge. The characters are also very distinct, each being entirely different to any other in the games and all having deep and interesting backstories to be discovered.
