• What is a biome? • “A biome is characterized by its plant life, the types of which are determined by a location’s climatic conditions, latitude, and altitude. ” • The Earth is made up of may different biomes. • Each biome supports different life forms and has a different atmosphere. • Let’s examine a few of these biomes.
• Everyone knows that the ocean if full of fish! • What else is found in the ocean?

• Deserts are typically some of the hottest places on earth. • What types of plants and animals could live here? • Ones that could survive without a lot of water; ones that could survive in extreme heat.
• The mountains are very rocky and can be dangerous. • The climates of mountains varies, but temperature increases with altitude. • Many different types of trees and flowers can be found on mountains. • Mountain lions, birds, and most other animals can be found here.
• Here the temperature rarely drops below 70˚F. • Receives the greatest amount of rain, compared to all other biomes. • What animals would live here?
