Class organization: From 08/27/ 2013 - 12/15/2013 @Felix Morales Building Rm 207 for Lab and brief lectures on the chapters Class is on : Wed-5: 30 PM - 9: 30 PM Break: a. 15 min ~7. 00 -7. 30 PM Textbook and Lab Manual: Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology by Martini and Nath, 8 th edition or Bartholomew, Martini and Nath, 9 th edition A&PI Lab Manual for HCCS edited by Keating and Wiersema. Focus on biological chemistry, biological processes, cellular morphology, metabolism, genetics and molecular biology. Prerequisite: Biol 1406 (4 credits: 3 lectures and 3 labs) or any Basic Human Biology Course and the knowledge you acquired therein:

Tests: A combination of take-home assignments and short tests in class Tests will vary in length and will be multiple choice. There will be 3 tests, each 15% o f the total. Laboratory exam will be identifying slides, sample bone, muscle, short answer type, match the following. There will be two tests each 7. 5% of the total. Starting with the organ systems. Assignments : consist of the exercises in the lab work book. Finish the requirements and answer the questions and submit them on the following Saturday beginning of the class. It is your responsibility to keep up with the lab work and submit the completed assignments on time that means on the Thursday of the week. If not you lose 5 points on each week’s submission Final Score Average of all assignments, lab work and tests. (15 X 3+15+15+25) A small % of total score reserved for good behavior, prompt submission, full attendance and good lab work, at my discretion.

Lab Work and general rules of classroom Length of lab depended on the material. Lab at the end of each class. Have the manual and bring to class. Record your observations, draw brief sketches of slides showing your observations clearly and labeling them neatly. Pencil for sketches and pen for writing. Clean up before leaving room. If group work, then work together but submit reports individually. If there is a question bank in the manual, write the answers clearly and concisely and submit. Assignments and lab reports due at the next meeting. Points taken off for late submission. Miss test or assignment or lab work, no make up unless sickness or death in immediate family. If you need additional tutorial, we’ll set up a time after class. Cleanliness, punctuality and promptness appreciated.
