Where is Madame’s room? ● From the front courtyard, enter the building on the right and go up the stairs to your right by the Baby Cougar room. ● At the top of the stairs, go straight. I am the first classroom on the left. ● We will also have plenty of staff helping students around the building to get students to their classrooms.
What do students need? Supplies For class everyday ❏ ❏ ❏ ❏ Charged Chromebook charger ½” binder with pockets 5 dividers with pockets Loose leaf paper Pencils Donations of boxes of Highlighter tissues are always welcome! Pen Keep at home/Bring when asked ❏ Scissors ❏ Glue sticks ❏ Crayons OR Markers OR Colored Pencils (whichever you are most comfortable with) NOTE: Students do NOT need a French/English dictionary. If they want one, I recommend Larousse Pocket Dictionary.
What is this class about? ● “When ACQUIRING another language: ○ ○ ○ First, we learn to LISTEN. We learn to READ what we’ve heard. We learn to WRITE what we’ve read and heard. Finally, we SPEAK because we’ve heard, read, and written it. ” Used with permission by Grant Boulanger ● Acquire French through storytelling and comprehensible input. ○ ○ ○ Listen to simple stories and music Read simple stories, articles, beginner novels Students need to focus on understanding what they hear and read. Students need to show Madame they understand show Madame when they don’t. Madame needs to use French in ways that students can understand.
